Inactivity and paused checks

To avoid running checks nobody's watching, DomainDash pauses inactive teams on plans without always-on checks — but only after fair warning, and only until you come back.

Who this applies to

This only affects plans without always-on checks. In practice that's the Free plan. Every paid plan, from Starter upwards, includes always-on checks, so paid teams are never paused for inactivity — their checks keep running whether or not anyone signs in.

Plan availability

Always-on checks is available on Starter, Pro and Business. See the plan comparison.

The reminder sequence

If a team on a plan without always-on checks goes quiet, DomainDash doesn't pull the plug straight away. It works through a sequence over a couple of weeks:

  1. Around 30 days of inactivity — DomainDash emails the team owner a first reminder that checks may be paused if the team stays dormant.
  2. About a week later — if there's still no sign of activity, a second reminder goes to the team owner and any admins, letting you know that checks will be paused in the next few days unless you sign in.
  3. About a week after that — if the team is still dormant, DomainDash pauses the team's checks and sends the owner and any admins a final note confirming it.

Each step gives you the chance to keep things running simply by coming back, and the reminders make clear at every stage that nothing is being deleted.

The first reminder goes to the team owner; the second reminder and the pause confirmation also go to any admins, so the people who can act on them are the ones who hear about it.

What "paused" means

When a dormant team's checks are paused, the checks stop running, but nothing is deleted. Your sites, settings, groups, and history all stay exactly as they are. Pausing just stops DomainDash from spending effort checking sites that nobody appears to be watching.

Resuming your checks

Resuming is as simple as signing in. Visiting the app marks your team as active again and switches your checks back on straight away — there's nothing to click and nothing to restore, so you're covered again the moment you're back. From then on the inactivity clock resets, so you won't hear from us again until another long quiet stretch.

If you'd rather not be paused for inactivity at all, moving to any paid plan removes you from the sequence entirely, because paid plans include always-on checks.

Frequently asked questions

Will DomainDash stop checking my sites if I don't log in?

Only on plans without always-on checks (the Free plan). After a stretch of inactivity DomainDash sends two reminder emails, and if it still doesn't hear from you it pauses your checks. Paid plans, from Starter up, are never paused for inactivity.

How do I resume paused checks?

Just sign in to DomainDash. Visiting the app resumes paused checks straight away — there's nothing else to do, and nothing is lost.

Who gets the inactivity reminder emails?

The first reminder goes to the team owner. The second reminder and the pause confirmation go to the team owner and any admins. The reminders explain what's about to happen and give you a chance to keep your checks running by signing in.
