Getting started
Insights
A friendly, plain-language heads-up that tells you what's worth keeping an eye on across your sites — no jargon, no digging.
Plan availability
Insights is available on Starter, Pro and Business. See the plan comparison.
What Insights is
Most of the time your sites are fine, and you don't want to read a wall of numbers to confirm it. Insights does the reading for you. It looks across everything DomainDash already knows about your sites — uptime and response time, SSL certificates, domain renewals, and recent incidents — and writes a short, readable summary of what, if anything, deserves a look today.
It's deliberately calm and conversational. When everything's healthy, it says so. When something's drifting — a certificate edging towards its renewal date, a site that's been responding slowly, a domain coming up for expiry — it surfaces that in a sentence or two, in plain English.
A note on the name
We call this feature Insights. It's a single, named part of DomainDash — not a setting you switch on, and not something you have to prompt.
Where you'll find it
Insights shows up in two places.
On your dashboard
At the top-left of your dashboard, the "all sites" summary card carries a short team-wide digest: a sentence summarising the overall picture, followed by a few bullets calling out the specific things worth a look. Where a bullet is about a particular site, it links straight to that site so you can act on it without hunting for it.
This is the bird's-eye view — the one-glance answer to "is there anything I should deal with today?" across your whole team.
On each site
Open any site's detail page and you'll find a per-site version: a short narrative about that one site, drawing on its uptime trend, certificate and domain expiry, and any recent incidents. It's the same friendly tone, focused on a single domain.
What it keeps an eye on
Insights is built from the same signals you'd otherwise piece together yourself — so you get the full picture without opening five different screens to assemble it:
- Expiring certificates — an SSL certificate approaching its renewal date.
- Upcoming domain renewals — a domain registration coming up for expiry.
- Slow responses — a site that's been responding slowly, nudged onto your radar before it becomes a bigger problem.
- Recent incidents — anything that's recently gone wrong, including whether it has recovered.
- Good news, too — uptime milestones and stretches where everything's stayed healthy get a mention, so it isn't only ever bad news.
Insights summarises what DomainDash has already checked — it doesn't run any extra checks of its own, and it never changes anything. Think of it as a readable front page for the data that's already there.
Preparing, then ready
Insights is written fresh in the background rather than stored forever, so the first time you open a page it may show a brief preparing state while the summary is generated. It then switches to the finished summary on its own, shortly afterwards — you don't need to refresh the page. If a summary can't be produced for some reason, the card simply steps aside rather than showing you an error.
Insights on the Free plan
The Free plan doesn't include Insights. On a Free team's dashboard you'll see a short prompt pointing you to the plan comparison instead of the digest. Starter and above include it — see plans and pricing for the full breakdown, or upgrade your plan to switch it on.
New teams get Insights during the trial
Every new team starts on a 30-day trial with Pro-level features and no card required — Insights included — before settling onto the Free plan. See your free trial for what's included.
