Letting visitors subscribe

When something's wrong, the kindest thing you can offer a worried customer is "we'll tell you when it's fixed".

Plan availability

The "email me when it's fixed" option

While an incident is live on your published status page, visitors see an option to be emailed once, when the problem is resolved. A visitor enters their email address and that's it — no account, no password, no login.

It's deliberately small and one-shot. There's no rolling subscriber list to manage, no marketing, and nothing to unsubscribe from. The visitor gets a single notification for that one incident, and then the connection is done.

It only appears during a live incident

The subscribe option is offered only when there's a live incident to attach it to. When everything's Healthy, there's nothing to wait for, so the option isn't shown. As soon as the incident resolves, it goes away again. This keeps the page honest: visitors are never asked to "subscribe" to a service that's working fine.

Because a draft page isn't publicly live, the subscribe option doesn't appear on drafts either.

How it relates to incidents and your updates

The subscribe option rides on top of how incidents work. DomainDash raises an incident automatically when one of your sites has a problem, and resolves it automatically when checks confirm the problem's gone. A visitor who subscribed during that incident gets their single "it's fixed" email when it resolves — without you having to remember to tell them, and without a worried customer chasing you for an update.

While the incident is open, you can also publish public updates so the page's headline carries your own words — what you know, and what you're doing about it. The subscribe option and your published updates work together: people who can't watch the page get the resolution by email, and people who are watching get your latest update at the top.
