Switching teams
If you belong to more than one team, switch between them at any time.
Overview
Some people work across multiple organisations or projects, and DomainDash handles that neatly. Each team is a completely separate workspace with its own sites, billing, and members. When you switch teams, you're moving between these workspaces. The dashboard, settings, and everything else updates to reflect the team you've selected.
How to switch teams
- Open the team selector
Click your current team's name in the top-left corner of the navigation bar. This opens the team selector, which shows all the teams you belong to.
- Pick a team
Click the team you'd like to switch to. Each team card shows the team name, how many members it has, and your role in that team. The team you're currently viewing is highlighted.
- You're there
DomainDash switches you over instantly. Your dashboard now shows that team's sites, and the navigation reflects the team you've selected.
What stays separate
Each team in DomainDash is completely independent. Here's what that means in practice:
- Sites: each team has its own list of monitored sites. Adding a site to one team doesn't affect any other.
- Billing: every team has its own plan and subscription. Upgrading one team has no impact on another.
- Members: each team manages its own member list. Someone can be an admin on one team and a regular member on another.
- Incidents and alerts are scoped to the team where the incident occurred.
Creating a new team from the selector
If you need another workspace, you don't have to go hunting for a settings page. The team selector has a Create a new team button right at the bottom of the list. Click it and you'll be walked through naming the team and choosing a plan, just like when you set up your first one.
