Upgrading your plan
Upgrading takes less than a minute. Pick a new plan, confirm, and your extra features are available straight away.
Overview
As your monitoring needs grow, switch to a higher plan at any time from your billing settings. Upgrades take effect immediately, so you'll have access to more sites, faster checks, and additional features as soon as you confirm the change. If you're already on a paid plan, billing is adjusted automatically so you only pay the difference.
How to upgrade
- Open billing settings
From the navigation bar, go to Team settings and click the Billing tab. You'll see your current plan at the top, along with how many sites and team members you're using.
- Browse available plans
Scroll down to the Change plan section. Each plan card shows what's included: the number of sites, check frequency, alert channels, team member allowance, and data retention. Your current plan is highlighted so you can compare easily.
- Select your new plan
Click the Upgrade or Switch plan button on the plan you'd like to move to.
If you're upgrading from the free plan to a paid plan for the first time, you'll be taken to a secure Stripe checkout page to enter your payment details. If you're switching between paid plans, the change happens immediately without leaving DomainDash.
- Confirm the change
If prompted, review the details and confirm. Once done, your new plan is active straight away.
How prorated billing works
When you switch between paid plans partway through a billing period, Stripe calculates the difference automatically. You'll receive credit for the unused portion of your old plan and be charged the prorated cost of the new one. This means you're never paying twice for the same period.
If you add extra sites beyond your plan's limit, those are also prorated from the day you add them.
What happens to your data
Upgrading never affects your existing monitoring data. All your uptime history, response time charts, SSL checks, DNS records, and incidents carry over to the new plan. If your new plan has longer data retention, you'll start benefiting from that straight away, though it won't backfill data from before you were monitoring.
Downgrading
You can also move to a lower plan or back to the free tier. When you downgrade, your current plan's features remain active until the end of your billing period. After that, the lower plan takes effect.
If the lower plan includes fewer sites than you're currently monitoring, you may need to remove some sites before the switch completes. DomainDash won't delete sites for you. You choose which ones to keep.
Only team owners can change plans
If you're a team member and not the owner, you won't see the plan selection cards. Ask your team owner to make the change.
