Adding and removing sites

Pick which sites DomainDash keeps an eye on. Add new sites in seconds and remove ones you no longer need.

Overview

Every site you want DomainDash to watch starts by adding it to your dashboard. Enter a domain name and we take it from there: uptime checks, response time tracking, SSL checks, DNS health, and domain registration alerts all kick in straight away. From that moment, you'll be the first to know if anything needs your attention. When you no longer need a site, removing it is just as easy.

Adding a site

  1. Click Add site

From your dashboard, click the Add site button in the top-right corner of the page. If you haven't added any sites yet, click Add your first site in the centre of the empty dashboard.

If you've organised your sites into groups, each group section also has its own Add site shortcut. Using it will automatically place the new site into that group.

  2. Enter the domain

Type or paste the domain you want to check, for example example.com. If you paste a full URL like https://www.example.com/about, DomainDash will extract the domain for you automatically.

  3. Choose where to check from

We'll suggest the location closest to you as your primary check location. Click Change if you'd rather check from somewhere else. On any paid plan you can also Add a second location, so DomainDash checks your site from two places. On Pro and Business those two locations are checked at the same time.

If you opened the modal from a group's Add site shortcut, the new site is added to that group automatically, no extra step needed.

  4. Confirm and start checking

Click Add site and you're done. DomainDash immediately begins running checks in the background. You'll be taken back to your dashboard, where the new site appears in your site list and is highlighted briefly so you can spot it.

Results start showing up within seconds, and a fuller picture builds over the first few minutes as data comes in from each type of check.

Site limits and extra sites

Each plan includes a set number of sites. New teams start on a 30-day trial with room for plenty of sites; when the trial ends and you settle on the free plan, you can check the number of sites the free plan includes. Paid plans include more, and some let you add extra sites beyond your plan's limit for an additional charge.

To compare how many sites each plan includes, see Plans and pricing.

When you try to add a site that would exceed your plan's allowance, the Add site modal shows a warning with the extra cost up front, so there are no surprises on your invoice. The charge is prorated from the day you add the site, so you only pay for the time you use.

If you'd get better value from the next plan up, DomainDash will suggest the upgrade right there in the modal.

Check your plan

Not sure how many sites your plan includes? Head to Choose your plan to compare your options, or visit Team settings > Billing to see your current allowance.

Removing a site

If you no longer need a site on DomainDash, you can remove it.

  1. Open the site

From your dashboard, click the site you want to remove to open its detail page.

  2. Open the site menu

Click the three-dot menu in the top-right corner of the site toolbar and select Remove site.

  3. Confirm removal

A confirmation dialog will ask you to confirm. Click Remove site to proceed.

Data is permanently deleted

When you remove a site, all check data for that site (uptime history, response time charts, SSL checks, DNS records, and incident history) is permanently deleted. This can't be undone. If you only want to stop checks for a while, pause the site instead. Pausing keeps everything in place and you can resume any time.

Removing a site frees up a slot on your plan, so you can add a different site in its place.
